Main tasks and accountabilities will be: Test Automation Leadership: Design, develop, and maintain advanced backend test automation frameworks for functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing for Java applications. Strategic Test Planning: Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive test strategies and plans, ensuring full coverage of features and functionality. Quality Advocacy: Act as a quality advocate within the engineering team, promoting best practices in test automation, continuous integration, and deployment. Collaboration: Work closely with mobile software developers to influence design and architecture with testability in mind, ensuring high standards of code quality. Performance and Scalability Testing: Design and execute complex performance, load, and scalability tests, identifying bottlenecks and working with the development team to optimize performance. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior SDETs and quality engineers, helping them to grow their skills in test automation and quality assurance. Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve existing mobile testing processes, tools, and frameworks, incorporating the latest industry trends and technologies. Defect Management: Oversee the identification, documentation, and tracking of defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution. Innovation: Innovate within and across teams and provide technical leadership, brining external market perspective What UST expects from you? 6+ years of experience in software development and test automation, with a focus on designing and implementing robust backend automation frameworks. Technical Expertise: Strong programming skills in Java Backend Testing Automation: Experience with backend automation tools like Cucumber or similar frameworks. CI/CD Knowledge: Strong understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines, with hands-on experience in tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead testing efforts, mentor junior engineers, and drive the adoption of best practices in test automation. Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environment. SDLC: Deep understanding of all stages in the Software Development Life Cycle Design Patterns: Deep understanding of design patterns and principles Cloud: Relevant experience with Cloud Computing (AWS is a plus) Agile: Experience working in an Agile fashion (e.g. Scrum, SAFe) Accessibility: Knowledge on accessibility testing and best practices (e.g. W3C) Good english level (C1) you will be working with international teams. Nice to have: Regulated Environment: Experience working in a highly regulated environment, like banking and fintech. Education: Degree in Computer Science Certifications: AWS certificate Security: Knowledge of security testing and tools Work location 100% remote within Spain. Work schedule Business Hours.
